Role Overview: People Operations Specialist
The People Operations Specialist at Local Infusion will manage core HR functions including employee onboarding and offboarding, benefits, and compliance, while supporting broader people initiatives that make Local Infusion a high performing organization. This role will be a trusted resource to employees and leaders, helping to build and support exceptional employee experiences in a fast-paced, highly-accountable environment.
Location: Remote in Chicago, IL or in office in Nashville, TN, with occasional travel as required
Job Description
Deliver a seamless and energizing new-hire experience that accelerates time-to-productivity and reflects Local Infusion’s culture.
Ensure every employment transition (onboarding through offboarding) is handled with clarity and consistency.
Maintain accurate, timely, and audit-ready people data that leadership can depend on for decisions and reporting.
Ensure employees are paid correctly and on schedule, with any payroll issues resolved quickly and transparently.
Provide employees with a clear, supportive benefits experience that increases understanding and utilization of available programs.
Protect the organization by ensuring all people processes adhere to federal, state, and local employment laws.
Support managers in making compliant, consistent decisions by offering guidance, risk awareness, and escalation when appropriate.
Ensure employees navigating leaves of absence or accommodations receive timely, empathetic, and compliant support.
Implement and reinforce People Team programs that improve connection, manager effectiveness, and overall employee performance.
Partner with the Head of People to optimize and scale policies, processes, and trainings that support organizational growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field
2-4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Generalist, or similar HR role supporting a multi-state organization, preferably in a high growth environment
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, with experience guiding managers through compliant decisions
Experience owning core HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, leaves of absence, benefits, and payroll operations
Strong HRIS competency, including maintaining high-integrity data and optimizing workflows
Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
