About the Role
The Provider group is embarking on a critical phase of growth and technical modernization. To guide this evolution, we are hiring a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to serve as the overarching Technical Individual Contributor Leader for the entire Provider organization. This role requires a unique combination of deep technical expertise, architectural foresight, and cross-functional leadership. Operating as a strategic partner to the Senior Director, the incumbent will be responsible for setting the technical roadmap, establishing engineering standards, and driving high-impact initiatives that span all teams within the Provider domain.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of related professional experience. Specifically, full-stack experience building modern database-backed (SQL/NoSQL) web applications and experience with microservice development
Proven Technical Leadership: Extensive experience operating as a principal or lead architect for a major product domain or engineering group. With the knowledge and hands-on experience driving all phases of the development lifecycle: planning, specing, execution, and measuring success, post-launch maintenance
Distributed Systems Expertise: Deep knowledge of building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure. Experience working on highly complex projects with a focus on achieving sustainable results
Influence Without Authority: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence engineering direction and product strategy across multiple stakeholders. Working with cross-functional teams to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical groups
Experience mentoring others, reviewing architectures, and establishing design patterns.
Preferred Qualifications

Domain Knowledge: Background in provider ecosystems, healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7), or complex B2B integration networks is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Start-up experience
Experience developing SaaS applications using the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform
Previous experience in products with high reliability/accuracy requirements (finance, mission-critical systems, etc.)
Experience with “on-call”, ability to deep dive complex issues and drive them to resolution independently
Experience with NodeJs, Typescript, Kafka
